Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) guarantees all medically necessary services to children and youth under age 21 enrolled in Medi-Cal. As of 2023, the State of California refers to EPSDT as Medi-Cal for Kids and Teens.

Goals of the Medi-Cal for Kids and Teens Provider Training
This training aims to strengthen understanding and awareness of Medi-Cal for Kids and Teens among Medi-Cal managed care plan-enrolled providers and increase access to children’s health services. California’s managed care plans, including Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), must ensure that all Medi-Cal licensed Providers receive proper education and training regarding Medi-Cal for Kids and Teens at least every two years.
