By the end of this training, all IPAs, delegates, contractors and downstream subcontractors who are in direct contact with Members in the delivery of care or Member services can expect to learn about and be able to provide trans-inclusive health care.
The training focuses on two modules, and learners must take both to complete the course. The course does not need to be completed in a single session. Use each module’s table of contents to resume or navigate to lessons as needed.
Module 1: This module introduces and explores the unique experiences and identities of trans, nonbinary, and many more non-cis people by explaining common terms and definitions, identifying how historical exclusion affects present-day experiences, and how to be an ally through affirming practices.
Module 2: This module dives deeper and explores concepts of culturally competent care, what services are covered under Medi-Cal, and how we can better address the unique needs of specific sub-populations.
